How It Started

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Monique Bernez, the founder of Emviva Advocacy— a mom, a patient, and a passionate advocate for those navigating the healthcare system.

My journey into advocacy was born from personal experience. As a mother living with multiple chronic illnesses, I know the struggle of managing doctor’s visits, medications, and the day-to-day chaos — all while caring for little ones. I’ve also walked beside loved ones through their own health battles, often feeling overwhelmed, unseen, and unheard.

Professionally, I’ve worn many hats in healthcare — as a medical assistant across multiple specialties, in healthcare administration, and later in healthcare compliance. I hold a BA in Psychology and Social Behavior from UC Irvine and a MBA in Healthcare Management from WGU. But more than any title or degree, what drives me is the deep desire to **help people feel heard, seen, and empowered** in a system that often forgets the human behind the chart.

It breaks my heart to see patients, especially moms, pushed through the system without the support or information they deserve. That’s why I started Emviva Advocacy — to be the voice, the guide, and the support I wish every family had during their toughest moments.

Whether you’re advocating for yourself, your child, or a loved one — you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to stand beside you, help you navigate, and empower you every step of the way.
